So. . .I have always thought this way. It kinda goes against the Christian system.
Regrets never materialize.
Regretting things or situations is a waste of time. They aren't really real.
Whatever it was that you did, at that point in time, you wanted to do it. It was what you felt had to be done for whatever reason.
I don't know, I guess some could call it the devil working with guilt because you wanted what ever it was at that time. Now, that you are trying to be forgiven, you "regret" it.
Help me out.
Are regrets real??

I think some regrets are very real. However, I have to agree that some may not be as regretful as we tend to think. For example, I regret in some way that I procrastinated about 6 EC quizzes and a Thesis, all of which I had to whip up in less than an hour for a deadline (but I did it!). Yet, I don't regret the experience because guess what? I learned to not procrastinate and I'm happy to say that I'm commenting on blogs as a break from working ahead in that class. No more make up for me! Regrets lead to lessons learned, and lessons learned lead to a more successful life.
Hmm ... I think I know what you mean, but there is a sense where regretting does lead (as Jess was saying) to break throughs. Do I regret my past sins? Of course I do, because I can still feel the effects of those sins. Am I going to dwell on them (I think this is what you are saying Katie), of course not - they are under the blood!
